6 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 26)

4. Fine Set Up

Look at that - a realistic promo between two wrestlers who spoke to one another like real human beings. That'll surely never catch on in pro wrestling (that's not a WWE problem either; it's an everyone problem!). Here, Tony Nese talked some sh*t about Sammy Guevara and said he'd win the TNT Title soon.

Sammy showed up out of nowhere to get in his face, and that led to a tense face-to-face and eventual handshake. The pair agreed to wrestle on next week's Rampage, then Nese sucker-punched Guevara. The promo was simple wrestling goodness, and the attack adds a little spice to the coming match.

Good booking then.

Nese also told Sammy that he's only champ because guys like him were tied up at the time. That was a nifty WWE reference without going overboard. Speaking of nifty, AEW are starting to realise that scheduling matches for Rampage is a shrewd strategy.
