6 Ups & 1 Down For AEW Collision (Feb 3 - Results & Review)

4. The Return Rumbles On For Serena Deeb

Much like Bryan Keith, Queen Aminata is another free agent who's impressed on AEW television in recent weeks. Much like Bryan Keith, Queen Aminata is another who your writer has suggested AEW would do well to sign to a contract.

This time out, Aminata found herself up against one of the best technical wrestlers in the game, the phenomenal Serena Deeb. It's just fantastic to see Deeb back between the ropes, and this match against Aminata was likely the Ghanaian's best AEW contest yet.

Serena just brings such grace, poise, and fluidity to everything she does, whether that's on offense or selling. Few are as smooth as the Professor, and her technical wizardry matched up nicely with the stronger, more aggressive Queen Aminata. And that was the story of the match; Deeb often fighting from underneath to overcome her larger opponent.

Everything that Serena did just makes sense and feels entirely natural, as highlighted by her targeting the legs of Animata, applying the classic Bret Hart-esque figure four ringpost spot, and then tapping Aminata out with the Serenity Lock shortly after.

After over a year out, Serena Deeb made her return to the ring on last week's Collision. If this is indeed to remain a pattern - Serena being a regular part of Collision - then AEW's Saturday show has a phenomenal ace up its sleeve from here on out. Regardless, AEW, period, has a phenomenal ace up its sleeve with a fit and healthy Serena Deeb.

Is it also a coincidence that the return of Serena Deeb has coincided with the only two episodes of Collision ever to feature two women's singles matches? Who knows...

On a side note, Aminata can only lose so many matches before people stop seeing her as any kind of viable threat, yet the conundrum is she's an unsigned talent who you don't want getting wins over your contracted talent. In short, Serena Deeb is great, and Queen Aminata needs signing ASAP.
