6 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dark (Sep 8)

Downs...

1. Anna Jay vs. Skyler Moore

Anna Jay
AEW

Per Cagematch, both Anna Jay and Skyler Moore have less than 20 professional matches on their résumé. Such inexperience means their relatively lifeless Dark encounter is forgivable, and perhaps it should have been expected, though the bout has to be judged on its own merit. With that said, the contest offered nothing to separate it from typical Dark fodder.

Moore and Jay went back and forth across just over three minutes. A fine layout, as while The Dark Order's 'Queen Slayer' is clearly the pushed commodity, she's almost a complete rookie. It's believable that somebody like Moore may give her trouble on the road to victory.

Anna ended up locking Skyler in her rear naked choke finisher for the tapout, continuing to get that move over. AEW and Jay have done a good job of establishing it thus and it'll be interesting to see if she gets a chance to slap it on Brandi Rhodes in a more formal in-ring setting.
