6 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (April 8)

What a main event it was.

Being brutally frank, this might be the first time yours truly has given a toss about Wheeler Yuta's work in AEW. Perhaps that's harsh, but he made everyone sit up and take notice of his work on Rampage. The ROH Pure Champ fought from underneath and took it to Jon Moxley here.

For his part, Mox elevated Yuta by being unable to put him away with some trademark violence and pretty much all of his bigger moves. Some of the pops from fans when Wheeler kicked out of Jon's signature holds were a joy to witness. The way Moxley showed disbelief that he couldn't kill Yuta's spirit was also fab.

Post-match, Regal and Danielson came out to show respect. William shook hands with Yuta, which likely means the Blackpool Combat Club just found its latest member. That's fine provided AEW don't go nWo 'B' squad with Regal's gang and add in too many faces.
