6 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (April 8)

2. The Giving Wrestler’s Wrestler (Again)

Bryan Danielson Trent Beretta
AEW

Those who read Rampage 'Ups & Downs' regularly may recall the high praise given to Bryan Danielson's match vs. Anthony Bowens on the 5 November 2021 episode. OK, so last November seems like a lifetime ago, but follow this link for a refresher then come back.

Bry was at it again on Friday night.

Danielson gives his opponents so much, and he knows how to do so without making himself look too weak for too long. This was a showing that proved how much more Trent Beretta could be doing in AEW too - he's a bit wasted in Best Friends, being honest, and could work wonders on his own for good.

This was an excellent, excellent match. The pacing was beautiful, and the clean-as-a-whistle finish with the LeBell Lock worked perfectly. Kudos to both men for getting intense without going over-the-top or stealing too much thunder from the main event as well.
