6 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (May 19)

5. A Message To Tony Khan

Billy Gunn The Acclaimed
AEW

AEW really made a mistake by cutting The Acclaimed's title reign short. They're one of the most over acts in the entire company, and probably one of the most over if you analyse pro wrestling generally. Max Caster, Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn have great chemistry together, and fans adore them.

In many ways, the trio and that live crowd in Austin, Texas sent Tony Khan a message here. It said: 'HEY! PUSH THESE GUYS AGAIN!'. They'd be viable challengers to the House Of Black for those AEW Trios straps, and booking them as eventual champs could go a long way towards making up for past transgressions.

The Acclaimed's six-man vs. Varsity Athletes won't be everyone's cuppa, but it was all "sports entertainment" (and not in a bad way by any means). It was actually one of the most banter-filled matches yours truly has ever witnessed on Rampage.

Let's hope TK was paying attention.
