6 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (May 19)

2. Obvious Result, Fun Ride!

Blackpool Combat Club AEW

You could've bet your house on Blackpool Combat Club beating the Best Amigos on Rampage, but that's OK. Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta beat the babyfaces in a functional trios opener that did kick Friday's show off on the front foot.

How about those AEW refs though? Will they ever convince an illegal pro wrestler to leave the ring? What's more, will one of them ever count to five seconds before five minutes have elapsed? In all seriousness, the officials do come across as totally useless and like they have no authority at times.

That wasn't enough to kill the buzz of this match, being fair.

All six men got their licks in, and special mention has to go to Bandido for how good he looked trading spots with Claudio. That's surely a match All Elite chiefs will want to come back to at some stage before the end of 2023.
