6 Ups & 1 Down From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Oct 18)
3. The First Challenger Has Entered
Johnny Impact didn't have to wait long to find out who his first challenger would be for the World Championship. He'll be defending against Fenix next week.
It's like a breath of fresh air has swept over the main event scene. The World Championship matches this year have been dominated by guys that keep the action on the canvas. Now, we're getting a World title match that could easily be mistaken for an X Division Championship contest. Aside from Impact vs Aries and possibly the three way from Redemption, it's something that you don't often see in Impact's World title scene.
Although it's quite unlikely that this is Impact's first proper rivalry as defending champion, you can't argue about it being a bad starting point for the 'Shaman of Sexy'. You just have to imagine the match between him and Fenix will be a showstealing performance. Where this leads both men to go is unknown as of now, but it can only be up from here surely, especially for the winner.
Who knows, maybe this is the start of a meteoric rise to the top of Impact for Fenix...
