6 Ups & 1 Down From WWE SmackDown (April 19 - Results & Review)

2. They’ve Handled This Brilliantly

LA Knight AJ Styles

WWE has handled this feud between Knight and Styles brilliantly.

Both guys are now locked at one win apiece on PLE, so there's surely more to come from them once AJ loses to Cody over in France. The sneaky subplot lingering just underneath the surface is also awesome - that shouldn't be forgotten following SmackDown's win for Styles. It had to feel good for his character.

Why? Well, AJ was originally mad at Knight for poaching "his" title shot vs. Roman Reigns. Now, after winning on Friday and scoring a title bout of his own, Styles has gained some revenge by wrecking LA's own dreams. His match vs. Cody comes at the expense of Knight. That's some nifty storytelling and continuity all round.

The aforementioned eye poke is something LA can reference in promos. Not as an excuse, but more as a 'that's the kind of guy AJ wants to be then fair enough - fight fire with fire' sort of way. Seeing Styles and Knight lock horns in a stipulation blow off sounds like a solid plan.
