3. A Logical (And Phenomenal) Winner

LA Knight is great, but AJ Styles beating him to become the number one contender for Cody Rhodes at Backlash makes a hell of a lot more sense. Going babyface vs. babyface over in France would've been too big a risk, and why would WWE want to risk anything with Knight at the moment? That'd be unnecessary.

He couldn't hope to top Cody as a face, so it was smart to put AJ over.

Styles has blossomed into a hard-nosed style of character who's in the shape of his life and truly deserves this main event PLE match. Anyone worried about where Knight goes from here shouldn't be; LA has options, and will probably move over to Raw in the Draft or end up challenging Logan Paul for the United States Title if he stays put.

The way Styles effectively cheated to score the win was also worth mentioning. He poked Knight in the eyes, then smashed his enemy with a Phenomenal Forearm for the pin. That's something WWE can come back to post-Backlash. Speaking of which...
