6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Collision (April 27 - Results & Review)

Attention, Tony Khan: THIS was more like it. Collision showcased everything good about AEW.

Swerve Strickland AEW Title
AEW

Swerve Strickland will be one hell of a champion for AEW.

His heroics during the Continental Classic and opposite Hangman Page set the scene at the tail end of 2023. Then, Swerve's dazzling performance to win the belt from Samoa Joe ruled. Dynamite's follow up vs. Kyle Fletcher wasn't bad, but it didn't feel right. The good news? Everything about Strickland's work on Collision did.

Heartfelt promos laying bare sacrifices from his personal life? Check. Announcing himself as a fighting champ people can believe in? Check. Meeting the challenge head on against one of the best pro wrestlers on the planet? Check. Yep, Swerve smashed it on Saturday night, but his performance wasn't the only thing good about the show.

Almost everything Tony Khan booked worked a treat. This should be a lesson to the boss - he doesn't need to fire out childish comments about WWE. Focusing on the core AEW product and everything good at his fingertips is the way to go, and Collision proves it.

Dynamite's Khan-bumping awkwardness couldn't compare to the blistering wrestling action Collision had to offer. Here's all the good and bad from one of the most watchable Saturday shows yet.
