6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Collision (April 27 - Results & Review)

Downs...

2. Rush Is Literally Rushed

Rush's return match vs. Martin Stone was far too short to really mean much of anything. Being honest, Rush isn't the kind of worker who needs squashes to click with fans. Few on the AEW roster thrive in this sort of environment though - squashes aren't really All Elite's thing. They're a workhorse company.

Collision didn't need this.

Perhaps it's a blessing Tony Khan didn't stick the match on Rampage instead though. That's a shorter show, so squashes are always a puzzling addition to the 'C' program's lineup. Sadly, the fact Rush's comeback win happened on this two-hour Collision isn't enough to save it from the 'Downs' section here.

There was nothing technically off about the bout, but it didn't fit in with cracking scraps like the main event or a surprisingly-excellent Acclaimed tag effort. Rush vs. Stone stuck out like a sore thumb, and it might've been better to hold back on Rush's return until Dynamite and a longer match.
