6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Collision (April 27 - Results & Review)

Ups...

6. Functional But Fun (And Heartfelt)

Swerve Strickland Claudio Castagnoli
AEW

Strap in for a lot of gushing praise from someone who is typically quite reserved on that when it comes to AEW. It's deserved though. Collision was a bloody good time, and Swerve Strickland set the tone by delivering a functional yet heartfelt promo to kick off the night.

He promised to make up for lost time with his family, and then said he'd represent them well as AEW World Champion. Proving it, Swerve sent out an open challenge invitation that was answered by Claudio Castagnoli. Fans at Daily's Place didn't get loud for Claudio, but everyone knew they'd be seeing one hell of a match later on.

More on that to come, of course.

Claudio kept things short and sweet. Meanwhile, Strickland was handed the floor to put over his journey from Mogul Embassy piece of sh*t to credible, genuinely likeable champ. There was a lot to like here, including Swerve looking like he might burst into happy tears whilst simultaneously bursting with pride.
