After watching Anna Jay vs. Toni Storm from Collision, yours truly went back into the archives to watch one of Jay's matches from April 2023. Specifically, it was a Rampage match vs. Julia Hart from back then. The difference in Anna from then to now is honestly night and day, man.

She's improving all the time, and will only continue getting better with more reps against workers like Toni Storm. Credit to Toni: The reigning AEW Women's Champ didn't gobble Jay alive out there. Instead, she produced a snug back and forth bout that somehow even managed to overcome the usual pic-in-pic ad break b*llocks.

That takes some doing for a 10-minute match.

Seeing Anna hang with someone the standing of Storm bodes well. Sure, it won't mean much unless Tony Khan keeps the faith, but you've got to call 'em how you see 'em in the moment sometimes. Jay will look back on this match with a smile. 'Timeless' might fancy a full-blown feud at some point too.
