6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (14 Sept)

5. Good, Solid Action

Jungle Boy Jay Lethal
AEW

What a nice piece of midcard business this was.

Jungle Boy is a midcard babyface in need of a victory and Jay Lethal is a midcard heel who can eat pins like nobody's business. He's also incredibly good at his job, particularly when that job involves talent elevation and plays his sh*thead heel character well, compelling the audience to root against him and for whoever he is facing.

Lethal went after Jungle Boy's lower back for much of this. Jack Perry was taped up after Luchasaurus' All Out turn, which saw him destroyed on the stage. This meant a backbreaker across the top turnbuckle and JB selling on offense, crumbling when attempting to hit a Brainbuster. He got that move later on but failed when attempting rival Christian Cage's Killswitch, almost falling to the Lethal Combination.

A failed interference from Sonjay Dutt led to the end, with Jungle Boy recovering from a Lethal roll-up to lock in the decisive Snare Trap attempt.
