Downs...

2. Diminishing Returns

So we're heading for another cinematic match at the Hardy Compound, huh? Is anyone else getting tired of these things? Maybe they wouldn't if Matt and Jeff Hardy were actually involved in a storyline people give a toss about, but they aren't. This business with The Firm has been f*cking brutal to watch.

The good news is that it's almost over.

Matt, Jeff, Hook and Isiah Kassidy cut a backstage promo on Ethan Page, Lee Moriarty, Big Bill and Stokely Hathaway on this week's Rampage. There was nothing wrong with it, but Jeff's put-on excitement during these skits is evident, and this is one story that didn't need a blowoff gimmick match.

What's the end goal here? That The Hardy Boys get a win over Stokely's group and have one last hurrah? Is that really a priority for All Elite Wrestling in 2023?! Sure seems to be. Sadly, the alternative (The Firm winning) doesn't sound too thrilling either.
