6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 14)

1. This Kind Of Refereeing

Right, there are wrestling fans who don't have a problem with this and that's fair enough. However, this particular one isn't fond of the way AEW refs officiate tag-team matches. Bryce Remsburg often didn't even bother to count or tell illegal members of each team to get out of the ring/stop double-teaming.

Weirdly, he then tried to enforce the rules at random. That's this fan's beef.

What's the bloody point in only laying down the law some of the time? Surely that goes against what a pro wrestling ref's act is supposed to be represent. This is honestly something Tony Khan needs to sort out, because it hurts a ton of tag matches and strips any and all psychology away from the things.

Or, just make every doubles match 'Tornado Rules' and make that clear to viewers. You absolutely can't have it both ways, which is what AEW wants. Referees should be consistent, and should seek to prevent any illegal actions. Especially when they're happening right in front of their faces.
