6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (March 20 - Results & Review)
Ups...
6. Some Rapid Continuation
Adam Copeland had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it champagne celebration with Best Friends, Top Flight and Daniel Garcia backstage on Rampage. The segment was very, very brief, but it did get the point across; Copeland is bloody delighted he beat his old pal Christian Cage in a violent 'I Quit' match on Dynamite.
Showing this short celebratory skit on Rampage sold the concept of Dynamite-into-Rampage as one big souped-up special rather than the 'A' show followed by the 'C' show. Fans who religiously watch the latter don't get to see stars like Copeland on Rampage often, so this was a nice little treat.
It's the little things, eh?
Side note: Obviously this isn't Tony Khan's plan (at least, you'd hope not!), but Adam stared at his bottle of champagne with an interesting look before cameras cut away. He was enjoying "a little bit of the bubbly", so perhaps he was thinking of Chris Jericho here. Nah, surely Jericho isn't his next TNT Title foe!
