6 Ups & 2 Downs From Before The Impact (Feb 16)
1. A Trio Of Naturals
For starting this style of weekly show, Impact Wrestling needed to have a decent broadcast team up their sleeves to ensure the show came together perfectly. You can have as much skits and exclusive matches as you wish, but you need to have a team you can rely on. They've found just that in Jon Burton, Josh Matthews, and Gia Miller.
Burton brings a legitimate background in sports broadcasting to the table, while Gia and Josh are both familar faces to keep the casual Impact viewer hooked. When this show was first unveiled, your writer was thrilled to see Burton as part of the team. He's done some terrific work with Impact in the past, most notably as part of the pre-show panel on both Bound For Glory and Hard To Kill, and that was no different here.
His more serious style of presenting opened the door for his co-anchors to be a tad on the sillier side, with 'Mean' Gia Miller being a genuine highlight of the show with her subtle hilarity. She's excelled in her role as a backstage interviewer, and so it's great to see her receive such an opportunity like this.
Let's hope every week is like this.
