6 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (4 Nov)
1. Bustin' Balls
The Good Brothers vs. FinJuice was a fundamentally sound match that was as enjoyable as their previous outings have been. Nothing was sloppy, they looked comfortable in everything they were doing, and it provided a fun match for the broadcast that, at the very least, provided Turning Point implications for the World Tag Team Titles.
The issues here are that this feud has essentially been ongoing since February, and, once more, Bullet Club intervened in a situation that could have been handled far differently.
Chris Bey, El Phantasmo, and Hikuleo didn't even enter at a pivotal point in the match, nor did they execute an effective beatdown. It was treated almost as a comedy sketch. They ran down while the match was at a standstill, thus giving the live audience that moment to realise, "Oh, this crap again?" before they capitalised on the moment. Only, they didn't, really; Phantasmo hit everyone in the groin and that was it. A quick beatdown, sure, but nothing to make you think they mean business.
Annoyingly, this was always the direction IMPACT was going to go for the match. They've done well at telling decent stories in 2021, but this one has overstayed its welcome, with no sign of culminating soon, either.
