6 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (4 Nov)
1. Alexander Vs. Suzuki, Please
When they ultimately air Josh Alexander vs. Minoru Suzuki, IMPACT will, ideally, be the talk of wrestling Twitter. They're teasing it as much as they can, with it presumably airing on either the 11 or 18 November broadcast.
There was a taste of it last night, with Matt Cardona and Eddie Edwards, and Moose and W. Morrissey on their sides, respectively. They started the match together, neither man budging an inch, thus maintaining both of their tough-guy auras. It was key to the story; Alexander is one of IMPACT's legitimate top guys right now, and Suzuki is, well, Suzuki. He's legitimate, full stop. That he spiked Josh with a Gotch-style Piledriver later on was justified to enhance the story as it didn't end the match. W. Morrissey's Powerbomb to Eddie Edwards did.
The rest of this was good, too. Both teams worked well together, while the crowd were all for seeing Josh and Moose properly tie up. The series of German suplexes to the World Champion was a credible spot, as was Suzuki's hanging armbar on Cardona.
Everything slotted in nicely, creating a perfect route to reach Turning Point. Moose's ill-timed Bound For Glory win aside, the Anthem-helmed promotion's main event scene is on top form just now.
