6 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Feb 7)

2. Anarchy Reigns

Sanity Undisputed Era

Surprise, surprise: this week's main event was good. Very good.

Sanity vs. Undisputed Era was vastly different to the sharp, technical bouts this spot has delivered lately. Instead of slick grappling, stiff strikes, and snug submission holds, this was a wild, chaotic brawl that spilled all over the building. The trios fought in the ring, crowd, and almost went all the way backstage at one point, furthering this as a feud that simple can't be contained, even after WarGames.

Dain was the star. Granted, everyone else was on-point, but 'The Beast Of Belfast' was operating on another level, dominating large portions of the match, and eventually putting Fish away for the pinfall. It's easy to see why WWE are so high on him, and at this stage, his affiliation with Sanity may even be holding him back as a singles wrestler.

Though primarily known as technical wrestlers, Undisputed continue to shine in environments like this. Hardcore stipulations bring out the best in Cole in particular, but Fish and O'Reilly have adapted admirably themselves, and always come off well playing weasel heels in dangerous stipulations. Though they lost, their performances were as excellent as ever.

Place this one just below Dream vs. Gargano and Bate vs. Strong in NXT's 2018 main event rankings, but it still ruled.
