2. Jonny Be Good... Maybe?
I'm not too proud to admit this... I have absolutely zero idea whatsoever if this Jonny Gargano / Mauro Renalo segment was any good. My initial watch was that it was forced, hokey, lame, and did nothing to really get me invested in seeing our interviewee finally get into a ring with the man he screwed over in Portland.
Everyone on earth is telling me that it was Quite Bad but it felt like a genuine step up on his previous efforts. For someone who is underwhelming in promos and not a wholly believable heel, this felt like positive strides being made in that direction, even if the finish line remains some distance away. It's the sort of improvement that should be praised.
Depending on how you want to look at this, it's either an Up that's a spiritual Down, or a Down that's a very generous Up. We need more from this feud, and we need more from its stars, and this beenfit of the doubt will only last so long.
