6 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's NXT (5 March)
1. I've Run Out Of Dream Puns
As mentioned earlier, I don't understand this storyline. I don't really get why, if Dream was so determined to get a shot at Adam Cole, he'd return and go after Roderick Strong's wife and child. I don't understand why he'd push a man out of a cage match, deliberately losing the thing, just so he could beat up someone else entirely. I don't understand why commentary is telling me this is a masterstroke.
However, when all of the above is preceded by a cage-match as good as this, and will inevitably be followed by Dream vs Cole, I don't really mind all that much. The two men have had outstanding chemistry since they first clashed over the North American Championship last year, and given the fresh setting of a steel cage built on a match last week that, at times, resembled a shoot fight.
This time out there was less aggression, but no less impact. Things got a little bit muddled between precisely how much both men wanted to win the match vs how much they wanted to escape the cage, but as a spectacle, it comfortably delivered as a main event.
