6 Ups & 2 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Mar 30)

1. Please Be Over

So here we are. We’ve made it. The long-awaited in-ring debut of one Scarlett Bordeaux. Imagine all those weeks ago when she first came in with her talent search that her debut opponent would be Glenn Gilbertti. Of all people.

In fairness, the match itself wasn’t the worst thing ever. It was never going to be one of Uncle Dave’s favourites, but it didn’t feature any major botches. The main thing to take away from this is the rather sexist storyline. The man formerly known as Disco Inferno hasn’t exactly been known for his positive remarks regarding female stars. If you even want to say that this rivalry was his way of apologising to the female talent pool, then just leave now.

It did nothing for anyone involved. While this may be the sort of gimmick Bordeaux portrays, it’s a bit of a step in the wrong direction given the current status of women’s wrestling. Having Kiera Hogan and Alisha Edwards laughing at a man for losing to a woman just gives off the wrong vibes. At least this is the end of – right?
