6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE NXT UK (22 April)
1. Back Atop The Mountain
Easily the most enjoyable match on the card was the reunion of Moustache Mountain, as they defeated Sha Samuels and Noam Dar in a superb outing.
Tyler Bate and Trent Seven looked like they hadn’t missed a beat together, from the in-sync entrance to the matching attires. It enhanced the match immensely, which was again furthered by Sha and Noam targeting Trent’s leg and dubbing him ‘grandad’. A weak insult in this modern age, and something that only WWE officials would find hilarious, but it worked well to build a match. Dar straight up kicking Seven’s leg from under him as Trent was essentially Hulking up was terrific.
The hot tag made to Bate was brilliant too, followed by some great highlights, namely Tyler bouncing off the ropes for his Lariat, landing directly in Sha’s arms for a beauty of a Spinebuster. A succession of dives from the Moustache Mountain lads was capped off by an assisted BirmingHammer for the win.
A fun bit of business, this was. Moustache Mountain are at the point in WWE where they don’t need to be a full-time tag team, making it feel all that more special when they do team together. If they’re able to be a part-time tandem and produce these sorts of matches, then what’s there to complain about?
