6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (15 Aug - Results & Review)
1. Nia Jax AGAIN?!
Right, how many times are this company gonna promote Nia Jax vs. Tiffany Stratton? They literally hyped a ‘Last Woman Standing’ bout between them on the 27 June SmackDown as the blow off to their issues. Now, magically, Jax is back in the mix just because she interrupted a backstage argument between Tiffy and Jade Cargill? Nia and Stratton have done some solid stuff, but we don’t need to see them go at it again so soon after ‘Last Woman Standing’.
We just don't.
This segment made poor Jade look like a third wheel when she's a more vibrant challenger than Nia. However, even Cargill lost to Stratton at SummerSlam, so why is Nick Aldis entertaining these women staking a claim for Tiffany's belt? Surely the SmackDown GM would just tell Cargill and Jax to get the hell out before turning his attention to fresh contenders, but apparently that's not creative's plan.
They're lining up yet another Nia vs. Stratton match, and no-one is quite sure why they think that's so necessary. Did...did anybody else hear the announcers saying that Jax vs. Stratton in Saudi Arabia was a final encounter? WWE definitely implied it during the build towards that match.
If all it takes to bag another shot at the gold is to saunter into the GMs office whilst he's conducting other business and sort of/kinda make demands, then that should be remembered next time there's a big number one contendership battle. Oh well, it seems Nia vs. Tiffy take 4,273 is incoming sooner rather than later.
