6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (24 May - Results & Review)
Ups...
6. Bianca Belair Selling The Knee
Last week, Bianca Belair avoided slipping on a banana skin by overcoming her knee woes to advance in the Queen Of The Ring tourney. Her luck ran out this week when she sprinted head first (knee first?) into a Nia Jax-sized brick wall. The way Belair sold her injured wheel was appreciated, and it fit the story of the match.
Bianca tried to get Nia up for her finish, but that was one weight too many for the bad leg. Her knee buckled, then Jax put the 'EST' away to take one step closer to the crown. Nia's general focus on the leg once she spotted the injury worked a treat too. She was like a dog with a bone once Belair grabbed at that body part.
Good. That's the way it should be.
Bonus points to WWE for showing Bianca chatting over the damage with a trainer behind the scenes. Then, Jade Cargill stopped Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell from taking advantage. Few will care about the resultant Women's Tag Title match on Saturday's pre-show, but at least the heels circled like sharks.
