6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 17)

5. An Improvement

Rhea Ripley Charlotte Flair

Your writer remains totally unconvinced that Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley is WrestleMania main event material. Yeah, it involves a Rumble winner and both are big stars, but their rivalry has been weak thus far. So, it was a nice surprise to see WWE kick things up a notch on the latest SmackDown.

This dude's personal thoughts on Charlotte as a babyface or the so-so build towards a match with Rhea shouldn't cloud things that are handled well. Here, Rhea and Flair worked an intense pull-apart brawl that was way better than anything else they've done together recently.

Now, the important thing will be following up on that interest.

Can anyone else smell a double turn coming in Hollywood? That'd be for the best, because (again) Charlotte isn't cutting it as a baby and fans don't know if they're supposed to cheer Rhea due to her involvement in other feuds like Rey vs. Dominik Mysterio.

Still, a win's a win.
