6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 17)

3. Predictable (But Still Awesome)

Sheamus Drew McIntyre

Everyone knew going in that Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus would go to a non-finish so Adam Pearce could turn the IC Title situation into a three-way at WrestleMania. However, Sheamus and Drew laid it in throughout their match, and they deserve a pat on the back for doing so.

It would've been easy for these real-life pals to take it easy, but that isn't in their nature. So, fans were treated to approx 10 minutes of punishing physicality before Imperium crashed the party and forced Pearce's hand. His announcement pulled a pleasing reaction from fans.

GUNTHER's outraged response worked well too.

This fan is pretty shocked that anyone would hate on stories when they're told well. McIntyre and Sheamus going above and beyond to earn a crack at the Intercontinental prize is certainly that - it puts over the importance of the belt, and their dual involvement guarantees pay-per-view quality.
