6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 24)

Ups...

6. An Improvement

LA Knight Rey Mysterio
WWE.com

LA Knight hanging with Rey Mysterio, then beating the legend, was a slight surprise given last week's woeful treatment of the man. It was a nice surprise though, and it's hardly like Rey-Rey needs to win every match he's in these days. Meanwhile, LA badly needed to taste victory.

He's been going nowhere since that Bray Wyatt feud ended.

Mysterio is one of the most giving legends in the biz, so at least Knight knew he'd get some shine during their match. He was a backdrop for the ongoing stuff with Dominik, sure, but there are way worse spots to be in than beating Rey f'n Mysterio on live TV.

Some will point to the rollup finish as bogus. That's fair enough, and yet...it worked. LA opportunistically pinned Rey whilst family drama took the icon's eye off the ball. This was an improvement on all counts for somebody who has felt a tad lost since the Rumble.
