5. The Edge Between Old Pals

Simple presentation is often preferable in wrestling, especially when it comes to vying for titles. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus getting testy 'cause they both want the same thing puts the Intercontinental Title on a pedestal, and that could never be called a negative.

Of course, the belt doesn't need much help when GUNTHER has been such a strong champ, but it doesn't hurt to have others openly talking about how much they covet the thing. There's a neat subplot running through 'Mania's three-way too: Sheamus thinks his friend Drew has been stepping on toes.

McIntyre cracking GUNTHER with a Claymore Kick then eyeballing his pal again afterwards put across how much tension there is between them. That, hopefully, is what GUNTHER will use to his advantage next weekend. There's no need to take the title off him just yet.
