6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 13)

It's nice to finally have a date for that Raw/SmackDown Tag Title unification bout.

WWE originally had it pencilled in for WrestleMania Backlash, but creative changed their minds and decided that a six-man tag would be better for the pay-per-view instead. That blatantly happened to buy time, and now the unification is scheduled for next week's SmackDown.

This is a fairly big deal for Smackers, to be honest. The Friday night show doesn't get enough matches that have high stakes or long-term impact, so it'll be great to see something like RK-Bro vs. The Usos headline the card next week. Of course, a screwy finish that leads to some HIAC rematch is likely, but it should still be fun.

Side note: Randy Orton and Riddle do comedy better than anybody else in WWE these days. They're loose, off-the-cuff and never seem to know where they're going with banter during promos. That leads to some truly funny moments, which are welcome for levity in amongst all the unification chatter.
