Praise the SmackDown deities for family.

Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso has been a blue brand blessing for months now, and the story took another turn on Friday's episode. All involved can be incredibly proud of how they've made this the most must-see angle in WWE, but those writing telly would be wise to start building up some other babyfaces for Reigns.

Could Daniel Bryan be one of them? Perhaps, although his loss to Jey had an air of 'Retirement Tour 2K20' about it. Uso's post-match beating would give Dan suitable motivation to get in the hunt for that Universal Title and take it to the Anoa'i clan before disappearing again though. At least WWE have options here - that's a good thing.

Elsewhere, Murphy got some personality, The Street Profits showed some fire, WWE tried to flesh out a 'Freak' and Bayley made a good point when setting up another crack at the SmackDown Women's Title. If only WWE weren't so bogged down by this perfunctory Survivor Series guff.

That's already a chore to sit through and the pay-per-view is around three weeks away...
