6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 22 - Results & Review)

Ups...

6. The Titles Are F’n Cursed!

Alba Fyre Isla Dawn
WWE

This explains a lot.

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn implied that the Women's Tag straps are cursed because they're magical witches capable of such dark arts. That's actually quite smart, because it kills the proverbial two birds with one stone. Dawn and Fyre finally get more TV time, and WWE gets to rationalise its own bullsh*t booking.

Being fair, the promotion has had some rotten luck with injuries in the Women's Tag scene too. However, they're also responsible for the sheer state those titles are in and have presided over years of mediocrity that fans are frankly bored of. Could Alba and Isla's curse story revive interest? It's possible.

Casting the Scottish pair as curse-capable heels is interesting, that's for sure. Dawn and Fyre having a stronghold on the Women's Tag belts then fending off challengers by going all spooky and supernatural sounds like fun.
