6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 2)
Downs...
2. An Unnecessary Moment
Shayna Baszler and Liv Morgan did not need one of those, 'Huh! We'll see!' type stand-offs before their title match in Wales. It was poor follow up on the arm break threat Shayna made previously, and it made next-to-no-sense that she didn't cuff Liv for cutting in on her promo time.
The challenger could've done that without injuring Morgan or giving her an excuse to skip the pay-per-view beating coming her way. This was a step backwards for Baszler, to tell the truth - it wasn't anywhere near as bad as some of her other main roster fumbles, but a negative is a negative.
She should've smacked the sh*t out of Liv here.
Or, why not have Morgan take the first shot then get overwhelmed? Just...do something more than trade naff lines then look at one another like there's simmering sexual tension. That, rather unfortunately, is how this backstage skit came across.
