6 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (Dec 9 - Results & Review)
3. A Nice Showcase For All Ego
Despite the Tony Schiavone hyperbole, Ethan Page vs. Kenny Omega was still a bunch of fun.
Was it a little too competitive? Possibly, but the action here was great as All Ego got an opportunity to showcase his abilities on the Collision stage; a stage he's not been on since challenging MJF for the AEW World Title in June when AEW Collision was in Hamilton, Ontario.
Having Page 'hang' with the Best Bout Machine for 12 minutes can certainly be a nice rub for the former North man if it's followed-up on in the future, and Ethan, as per, clearly made the most of his minutes in front of the Montreal crowd. A cutter from Page was particularly impressive, whereas a suplex to the outside from Omega onto Page was particularly wince-inducing.
To the surprise of nobody, it was Kenny who walked away with the win, doing so with his patented One-Winged Angel. Post-match, Omega was taken out by Big Bill, which nicely keeps things ticking along for Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho's upcoming shot at Bill and Ricky Starks' AEW Tag Team Titles.
Now, let's hope it doesn't take for AEW to return to Canada for Ethan Page to be featured in a televised one-on-one match again. While Page has been having a fun run in ROH across these past few months, he's a talent who really should be given more opportunities as an AEW singles act in 2024 and beyond.
