After a horrendous habit of AEW Collision featuring just one short women's match which spent most of its runtime in a picture-in-picture break - a habit that's sadly plagued all of the company's weekly programming - the Saturday show had actually started to give a little more bell-to-bell time to its female talent in recent weeks.
Unfortunately, it was very much back to the same old, same old this week.
This latest Collision featured Mariah May vs. Trish Adora in a six-minute match which spent three minutes in picture-in-picture. And for the in-ring action, that was it for the women of AEW across Collision's two-hour runtime.
That match itself was about as fine as can be expected for the time allotted to it, with Adora hitting a great seated German Suplex before May got the win. Likewise, a post-match DDT on the outside from Mariah to Deonna Purrazzo looked fantastic, but that can't take away from a greater, annoyingly frequent issue with AEW TV.
Of course, there was the Toni Awards ceremony after the match, plus continuing the Storm vs. Purrazzo rivalry, but the AEW women's roster deserves better when it comes to ring time.
