6 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (March 9 - Results & Review)

2. The Tag Team Tournament Starts To Shape Up

The FTR/Infantry segment just about lands on the Ups side of things here.

Cash Wheeler and Dax Hartwood cut a standard strong promo, throwing up questions of self-doubt while making it known that they'll be going all out to win the AEW Tag Team Titles once more. Where things got slightly muddy, though, was the surprise arrival of the Infantry.

What made this feel a little strange, is the simple matter that the tandem of Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo is such an unknown one to many in the audience, as reflected by the crickets that greeted the pair. That's not the talent or the audience's fault, for the Infantry has made only one televised AEW appearance ever, which came in April 2022 as part of a two-minute, eight-man tag squash loss on AEW Rampage.

To be fair, Dean and Bravo made the most of their minutes, delivering some steady mic work and managing to get the crowd on their side by referencing what Google informs is a local strip club.

This upcoming tournament for the AEW Tag Team Championships obviously needs teams to flesh it out, and the Infantry has been a solid pairing in ROH, so, as mentioned, this gets a pass.
