6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Collision: Holiday Bash (Dec 23 - Results & Review)

2. Not Much To Shout About

Julia Hart Thunder Rosa
AEW

Here's the "slight struggle" that's definitely arguable.

This writer was a little disappointed by Julia Hart and Skye Blue vs. Abadon and the returning Thunder Rosa. Throughout, their tag match was way lower on energy than one expected going in. You've got to worry for Abadon challenging Julia at Worlds End too, because that could end up playing before some silence.

It was certainly downplayed and cast as a backdrop to Rosa's comeback here. Whilst it's great to have Thunder back in-ring on TV, it's fair to say this wasn't her best work. In fact, the ongoing story involving Abadon and Skye's turn to the dark side alongside Hart could've done without Rosa's involvement.

The live crowd popped for Thunder pinning Skye, but it does raise a question for Tony Khan: Is Blue gonna become cannon fodder so Julia doesn't have to eat pins in matches like this? If so, then that's a bit of a waste of someone who should be looking towards 2024 as a breakout year.
