For a change, the women’s division was given a plum spot on Dynamite, and were even better-placed to lift the crowd’s spirits thanks to local hero Britt Baker leaning into her hometown support.Toni Storm, Ruby Soho and Jamie Hayter typically work hard-hitting matches in an effort to elevate over-familiar and under-cooked booking, but the Outcasts/Homegrown feud felt anything but that with a crowd sizzling for ‘D.M.D’ and some actual action as a contrast to the show-opening gabfest.
The heels got what they deserved from the cauldron of heat after some quality cheating and triple-teaming too - an awesome nearfall on Baker only earned them two before the former Women’s Champion made her own save and tapped out Soho with the Lockjaw.
The Terrible Towels were spun proudly, but Baker wasn’t in celebratory mood. Hayter was launched into the steel stairs before the finish, and required medical attention immediately after the bell. Baker earnestly followed up on that rather than basking in the glory, ostensibly highlighting a fiercely tight bond between the babyfaces ahead of a bigger payoff down the line.
