6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (21 June - Review)
4. Every AEW Trios Match Is Good, And Sting Is The BEST
Le Sex Gods and Minoru Suzuki Vs. AR Fox, Darius Martin and Action Andretti was a very fun and exciting match with a lot of thought put into it.
It was also evidence in the case for Chris Jericho as a selfless worker who isn't quite the clout vampire he is perceived to be. He gets nothing out of doing what he did with Darius Martin here, who isn't hot at present. And yet, their exchanges were awesome and Jericho made sure to kick out at 2.9 to put over his opponent and the idea that Darius, with a few more reps, could be a real player.
The match overall told a compelling story of impetuous youth versus heel sh*theads experienced in the dark arts and the man under their wing, and Minoru Suzuki was on great form. His face is perfect. The expression on it when Darius dared to hit him early was tremendous. It was as if the prospect was so stupid that Suzuki could not comprehend it. Then, with a sick grin, he via forearm shot told Darius why hitting him was stupid.
Jericho's team won, after which Sting entered the ring. He was the best. After irritating Jericho, who swore under his breath, Sting announced this to the class like the stern but fair teacher that he is. He made Jericho look like he was seven years old and Jericho sold it to perfection. This was the set up for a throwaway but magical Trios undercard attraction at Forbidden Door, and Sting and Darby's partner will be revealed on Collision.
That is a cheap hook, but looking at it from another perspective, it must be a big or exciting name if they are giving fans time to speculate. It should be Tetsuya Naito; he is an enemy from Jericho's past, and will do something insanely, brilliantly stupid with Sammy Guevara.
