6 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jul 28)
1. Four Long Months
30 March marked the most recent match for Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, defeating Ever-Rise on the Main Event episode that aired 3 April. Their final appearance under the WWE banner saw them assist AJ Styles during his Boneyard Match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36, which made it even more shocking that they were released later that month.
This week marked their much-anticipated return to the ring, as they defeated Ace Austin's associates Reno Scum in the Impact main event. Sporting new camouflage gear, The Good Brothers haven't missed a beat, more or less dominating the majority of their return bout. A Magic Killer to Adam Thornstowe etched a tick in the win column for Gallows and Anderson, all while 'The One True Ace' was sat atop the stage.
What followed after the bell was also exceptional, as the former Bullet Club members disposed of Luster The Legend, before engaging in a brawl with Ace and Madman Fulton that saw them take the brawl backstage, and eventually out of the building. A boot from Gallows to Fulton sent the former SAnitY member crashing into a cameraman that ended the show with the camera feed crashing.
Their match was excellent, and the brawl after only added to the fire that The Good Brothers have lit for themselves in their short stint thus far in Impact Wrestling. Having the show conclude inadvertently with the feed cutting out was a superb move, and something that could prove to be even better if next week's episode opens up with the brawl still going on. The best part about all of this is no-one expected this to be the first thing Gallows and Anderson did in Impact. Everyone just assumed they would be immediately in the World Tag Team Championships scene.
Sometimes, a different thing is always the better option.
