6 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jun 23)

3. Finesse To The Top

As if we needed any further confirmation, Chris Bey is essentially the next challenger for Willie Mack's X Division Championship, seeing as 'The Ultimate Finesser' pinned 'Chocolate Thunder's' shoulders to the mat for the three. Teaming with Rohit Raju and his Finesse and Bench Press Express partner Johnny Swinger, their bout against Mack and The Deaners was a fun six man tag affair.

Aside from the domination of Rohit Raju in the earlier stages of the match, this was everything you could have asked for from this type of match. Chris Bey and Cousin Jake, in particular, were on top form here, with Bey using all sorts of unique manoeuvres that have made him stand apart, whereas Jake towered over his opposition. That superman spear to Raju and stiff forearm strike to Bey were both delightful additions to the big man's arsenal. A Stunner from Mack to Raju opened the door for Bey to steal a win over the X Division Champion with his innovative Beymouser finisher.

Had Rohit Raju not been used in the way he was, then this match would have been perfect. While the former Desi Hit Squad member did prevent Mack from nailing his Six Star Frog Splash towards the end of the bout, it wasn't enough to overshadow all the downside to Raju's booking here.

For the most part, however, it was an excellent bout to (presumably) lead to Chris Bey vs. Willie Mack for the title at Slammiversary. More of this sort of thing please.
