6 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jun 26)

1. Ellsworth The Unwatchable

That James Ellsworth is objectively bad at almost everything he does is part of his gimmick. He exists to troll and antagonise, but good lord, are these unfiltered bulls*** segments tough to watch.

With Asuka and Carmella absent, 'The Chin That Eats The Pin' was left to further the Women's Championship feud alone. He did so by calling 'The Empress' out, challenging her to come to the ring, and bragging about his love life. This drew Paige from the back. Ellsworth tried to flirt with his General Manager, but instead ended up getting booked versus Asuka for next week. On top of this, Carmella will defend against the former NXT Women's Champion at Extreme Rules.

This was essentially a table-setting segment filtered through an obnoxious lens. Ellsworth stinks. He's a bad talker, and the decision to bring him back has been entirely destructive for Asuka, who, after Money In The Bank, is now just a face in the crowd. She'll gain nothing if she beats James next week, but lose even more if she eats the fall (which seems likely, particularly if Carmella's ringside).

Oh, and the Paige "date" stuff? "Awkward" doesn't even cover it. Throw all of this in the bin.
