6 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (29 Jan)

Holy hell, was that Dusty Tag-Team Classic final an absolute stormer.

Everyone involved was elevated by the match, it was TakeOver worthy and the right team were handed the cup heading into Portland. Earlier, Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle had shown how much odd-couple chemistry they have as a duo in a backstage promo, and they followed that up by showing off their teamwork in-ring.

Maybe some fans in the US who sit on the fence when it comes to NXT UK will check the show out more after the Grizzled Young Veterans' performance too. They matched Dunne and Riddle all the way in this headliner, and didn't look out of place next to some of NXT's biggest stars. That's a huge compliment to the Brits.

The BroserWeights now move on to wrestle Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly for the NXT Tag-Team Titles at TakeOver on 16 February. If the pace of their work and fan reaction towards Dunne and Riddle was anything to go by this week, then WWE should really think about opening the card with that match come Portland.
