6 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (29 Jan)

Downs...

3. Serious Trent Is...Silly?

Why-oh-why did Trent Seven go to perform that slow log roll during his entrance?

The announcers and pre-match video package did a fine job of putting over Seven's "bruised larynx" before his match against Finn Bálor. Trent himself sold the injury and looked serious when he was walking down the aisle, but seemed desperate to get his sh*t in and took his eyes off the ball.

His roll attempt did open the door for more Bálor menace in the form of a baseball slide, and yet it shouldn't have happened. Seven should've been all-business here, and he should not have been playing up to fans as he made his way into the ring. That took just a little bit away from his credibility as a wounded warrior looking for vengeance after Finn's car door ambush.

There's more positive things to say about this match later, though it would've been nice had Seven entered Full Sail as a ball of a rage looking to take his frustrations out on Johnny Gargano's opponent at TakeOver: Portland.
