6 Ups & 3 Downs From NXT TakeOver In Your House 2021
1. Who’s Left?
Right, so Karrion Kross choked out Kyle O'Reilly to retain his NXT Title and end TakeOver: In Your House with a cackling Scarlett on his arm. The finish was rather definitive too, and that doesn't do a whole lot for Kyle's prospects as a singles challenger for the belt in the future.
More questions: WWE, where do you take things from here?
Kross bested every conceivable contender in this five-way. O'Reilly was sacrificed to make Karrion look stronger, and there doesn't seem to be much juice in solo feuds opposite Pete Dunne, Johnny Gargano or Adam Cole either. The future of Kross' reign as champ is very much up in the air.
William Regal's closing comments about change in NXT could shake things up, to be fair. However, WWE would still be left with the same problem - there's nobody on the horizon who works as a challenger for Kross unless they drop somebody in from Raw or SmackDown randomly.
