There's no getting away from the fact that LA Knight shouldn't have beaten Cameron Grimes. However, their ladder match was so well-worked and frantic that it's hard to moan too much. Both guys put everything they had into the gimmick, and they can be proud of their efforts.

Unlike Martinez vs. Li, this did seem like a TakeOver-worthy showdown.

A quick scan of social media reveals that some are bored of WWE's ladder matches now. That's fine, but it is what it is. Spare a thought for the workers, 'cause it can't be easy to come up with new things to do after 20+ years of samey spots. Christ, those early TLC bouts alone swallowed up 90% of the creativity.

Still, TakeOver badly needed a showing like this to make it stand out from weekly episodes of NXT. Grimes and Knight ran through everything they could think of, then raced through a finishing stunt show to get the job done and crown LA.
