Right now, the wrestling world is getting its knickers in a twist over WWE vs. AEW. But while those companies eye each other up, and WWE sends NXT to fight the good fight against All Elite, one promotion creeping up in the underdog role is the re-emerging NWA.

Now on its fifth episode, NWA Powerrr has quietly and quickly become a favourite of many a wrestling fan while WWE and AEW engage in their public d*ck measuring contest.

Away from the glitz and glamour of WWE and AEW, Billy Corgan’s National Wrestling Alliance has gone slow and steady in how it’s been developed. Many mocked Corgan for purchasing the NWA name, citing that the Smashing Pumpkins frontman was simply splashing a bunch of cash on three letters. But Corgan has proved them wrong, put together a wrestling product that feels so old yet so new.

Four episodes have already aired on YouTube. Let’s take a look at how things played out on this week’s offering of NWA Powerrr.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic.
